HippWrap Containment established over 29 years ago in 1986 by sole proprietor Rick Hipp, Hipp Plastic Wrap (the company’s original name) protected boats and equipment, in all shapes and sizes, with its shrink wrap system. The company incorporated in 1991, and shortly after, saw the addition of Randal Hipp, Rick’s brother, to the team, a name change to HippWrap Containment, the name coined by its employees who called themselves the “Hipp Wrappers” and the addition of parts and material sales.
The Hipp brothers have been pioneers in the field of shrink wrap containment resulting in the ability to shrink wrap most everything under the sun with the development of the HippWrap Containment System. This system provides enclosures for various containment projects and protective coverings for your long and short term storage or transport needs. UPDATE — A New Chapter for HippWrap
In September 2025, HippWrap was acquired by Jonny Williams, owner of Protect Construction Supply, Inc.
The acquisition was a natural fit built on a long-standing relationship between Jonny and HippWrap Containment dba HippWrap. For years, Protect Construction Supply worked closely with HippWrap as both a customer and industry partner, supplying and supporting many of the complementary products used alongside HippWrap’s containment solutions.
That relationship gave Jonny a strong understanding of the HippWrap product line, its customers, suppliers, and the reputation Rick built over decades in the containment industry.
As Rick transitioned into retirement, bringing HippWrap and Protect Construction Supply Inc together provided an opportunity to preserve HippWrap’s history and industry relationships while significantly expanding the range of containment products and solutions available to HippWrap customers.
Today, HippWrap customers have access to a much broader offering of scaffold containment, debris netting, air bag tarps, containment tarps, reinforced poly sheeting, scaffold sheeting, shrink wrap, tarps, temporary protection products, tapes, accessories, and other specialty containment solutions through the combined resources and product knowledge of HippWrap and Protect Construction Supply.
The combination also provides customers with expanded inventory, sourcing capabilities, and support for projects across a wider range of commercial, industrial, scaffold, marine, and government applications.
The HippWrap story that began with Rick and Randal Hipp in 1986 continues today as part of the Protect Construction Supply family, with the same focus on containment while offering customers more products and resources than ever before.
